Irrigation is more complex than you think; one plant needs a lot of water, the other just little and then you also have to deal with the number of times a week for example. This is perfect to arrange when you can measure, and that is possible with the VH-400 sensor from Vegetronix. Connect it to your domotics and read out all the desired data in this way. Nice application is that this product can now be linked to the Green Garden Hub from Green IQ.
The sensors are equipped with a cable and these are available in different lengths, namely 2, 5 and 10 meters. When the sensor is connected to a system of Green IQ, all the data to be measured are forwarded to the Green Garden Hub so that this can be acted upon and the sprinklers in your garden will go on. This way you can enter the percentage of soil moisture you want and what has to happen if the actual value comes below.
The sensors are insensitive to salt and will not corrode over time. In addition, they are waterproof, small, robust and can be placed at any depth (operating temperature between -40 and 85 degrees). The response time is super fast; the converted values can be read in less than a second.
Up to 3 different soil moisture sensors can be connected per Green IQ hub.
