SONOS Beam | Great sound for your films, series and music.
How does the Beam differ from Playbar and Playbase?
The Sonos Beam is a more compact speaker that fits almost anywhere. Playbar and Playbase have more speakers, and therefore they give a louder and wider sound with more bass. Beam is optimized for small to medium sized rooms, while the Playbar and Playbase can fill larger rooms.
Can you group Sonos Beam with other speakers for surround sound?
Yes. Although the Sonos Beam itself is already a great soundbar, it can also be connected wirelessly to our Sub for extra bass and with a set of Sonos speakers for complete surround sound. An installation with left and right rear speakers and a Sub really gives you 5.1 surround sound.
Does the Sonos Beam support Airplay?
Yes you can play directly via Airplay from your iPad, iPhone and Mac. Watch a video on an Apple device and listen to perfectly synchronized sound on the Sonos Beam.
What audio content can I play on Sonos Beam?
Sonos Beam will play all the sound from your TV once the installation with the Sonos app is complete. You can stream audio from the TV, movies, video on demand, music, radio, video games, audiobooks and podcasts.
Which sound codecs and formats does the Sonos Beam support?
Sonos Beam plays audio from PCM stereo, Dolby Digital and Dolby 5.1 sources. These are the most popular audio formats for streaming video on demand and for watching TV.
